Description
Some basic indications for the care of Yucca elephantipes:
- Light: It prefers direct or very bright sunlight, so a location near a window would be ideal.
- Watering: It has low water requirements.
Let the soil dry out completely between waterings and then water deeply.
In winter, reduce watering even more. - Humidity: Tolerates low humidity well, making it ideal for indoor environments.
- Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures, but is quite resistant to lower temperatures and can tolerate conditions down to 7°C (45°F) in winter.
- Fertilization: Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer for indoor plants once or twice a year during spring and summer.
- Pruning: It can be pruned to control its size.
If they become too tall, you can cut off the main trunk, and it will usually sprout again. - Transplanting: Transplant every few years to a larger pot with good drainage, although it is a plant that tolerates well to be a little tight in its pot.
